Ellie has always been inspired by the joys in life that surround her….whether it be a song, a cupcake or a tiny bird. Her art reflects the colorful treasures that can only be found in her imagination. The popular culture of her childhood still remains in her heart and her interest in current events can also be found in her work.
As a little girl you could always find her with a crayon or a marker doodling away. It took Ellie a long time to figure out what she wanted to be when she was a grown up. Then she realized she could turn her hobby into her career. After deciding college wasn't for her she returned home to Galveston Island and worked for her family. She took some old chairs of her grandmother's and painted them for her first apartment.
A great find in an antique store resulted in her first piece of painted furniture she gave as a gift.
Word spread of ellie's new venture and this old child's chair turned into a set of holiday themed
dining chairs, several
murals,
custom painted rocking chairs for children and
footstools galore!
She also delved into
dining tables,
armoires and even floors!
As time passed she started creating picture frames, mirrors and her most popular concept…
name signs for kids.
